Second half of the 21st century, the world is undergoing major changes. The climate and energy crisis are felt around the world. Society has relied on powerful multinational corporations like Genetech Biosystems to improve the Earth’s livability. You and your teammate are called upon to investigate the sudden shutdown of one of their research sites. The site, based in Paris, France, is dedicated to transhumanism.
The new challenges created by digital technology have compelled the state to create new elite police departments. You are part of the USAC task force, the French Special Unit against Cyber Attacks.
To carry out your mission, you will have to cooperate in a duo composed of an infiltration agent and a digital operator.
Infiltration Agent
Thanks to his wide range of gadgets, he is the specialist in surgical operations on physical systems. His optimized equipment and his special suit give him an increased mobility, perfectly adapted to the exploration and the recognition of his investigation environment.
Digital Operator
Thanks to his provided arsenal and his enlarged storage, he is a powerful defensive asset. Specialized in hacking, he has both a permanent police database and advanced hacking tools allowing him to break any digital lock.
The choice is yours.
Your goal is to investigate this shutdown, to identify and neutralize its source.
Persistence, communication and observation will be key skills to prevent the environment from turning against you. You have all the tools and skills you need to succeed in this mission, use them wisely in your investigation. If one of you fails, the mission fails.

Bonding Ambivalence is an asymmetrical 2 players Co-Op Puzzle FPS. You and your partner will progress in a psychological thriller atmosphere with some shooter elements. Don’t give in to the pressure of the threat: patience, concentration and communication will be key skills to advance in this hostile environment.
IMPORTANT
- The story mode can not be played alone, you must find a partner (Steam Friend) who owns the game to start a multiplayer session.
- Beware the game contains elements of psychological pressure that may shock the sensitivity of some: presence of creepy sounds, slow-burning horror atmosphere, small creatures and insects.
- Note that this game is more a puzzle game than a shooter. Most of the time you will have to solve puzzles. The shooter phases do not fill the whole gameplay.
- This game contains a training section (solo player) to familiarize yourself with the game and its gameplay. It generally takes one hour to complete.
Difficulty
Bonding Ambivalence is a mix between puzzle solving and FPS. The puzzles do not have explicitly stated difficulty levels, they are mixed in the environment, they can look hard in some places and easy in others.
- The game relies on investigation and the difficulty varies mainly with the amount of information you collect: the less you have, the more difficult it becomes
- For immersion purposes, hints are incorporated in the environment and nothing is explicitly displayed on the HUD: this requires observation and reading
- Some situations require strategic analysis: choose your tactics carefully, certain choices can sometimes make situations more difficult than they are
Lifespan
An operation usually lasts between 10 and 16 hours.
After you finish the game, you can replay the story with two other game modes:
- Clock mode: accurately measure the time it takes to complete the operation, ideal for speedrun
- USAC Real mode: the failure is fatal, if you fail the operation, you start again from the beginning, ideal for those who are looking for a real challenge
